Men Helping Men
Be Better
Men, Husbands and Dads

A new offering for Fathers or soon to be Fathers.

We realize raising children is time consuming and most Fathers
if not all, have limited time to try something new.

That’s why we are keeping the Gatherings to one hour and
utilizing the Zoom app to make access as easy as possible.

Reflections

By the time a man realizes that maybe his Father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he’s wrong
— Charles Wadsworth
Sometimes a lot of fatherhood feels like reacting. This is an opportunity to intentionally set aside time to think about the type of man and father you want to be. As the weeks went on I became more and more heartened to see my fellow dads each week. Everyone offered valuable insights..
— Travis
This program was a wonderful experience. For an hour, once a week for 8 weeks we meet with other fathers to discuss what it means to be a man, and what it means to be a father. This is not a 12-step program, that you have to rigorously follow or you fail. It is men talking to other men about the mistakes they’ve made, how they’ve overcome them, and how they are better men for it! You are able to be yourself with no judgements coming your way. Fathers come together and tell their stories and talk about the challenges and successes we’ve had as fathers. Being a father is not something you just do. It takes practice, just as anything else. Fathers make mistakes from time to time, and we have to be ok with that! We fall flat on our faces from time to time, but it’s how we react to those failures that makes us who we are as a father. This group lets you be vulnerable, and the leaders are extremely helpful in guiding the conversation without taking it over! I think it is a wonderful experience and was extremely helpful to me as a father. I know it will be helpful to others as well!
— Cody
This offering is about connecting with yourself more deeply and building community with other men. It is a gift and it will give you more than you can currently imagine. The teachings and wisdom will stay with you long after the sessions

What it means to be a Father

The second four Gatherings will follow several Wisdom teachers exploring the path of Fatherhood.

The leaders effectively created a safe container. We were able to be vulnerable in such a way that we could express our true selves in important and even powerful ways.

FAQs

When will the Gatherings be held?

The day and time of the Gatherings will be decided at our first meeting, based on everyone’s schedule.
When registering, use the field on the form to fill in your preferred day and time.

Will there be any cost associated with participating?

The only cost, will be the cost of the power needed to run your device and camera.
We call the Journey ‘ a trusted offering ‘. The Guides ‘trust’ the Dads will show-up and the Dads ‘trust’ the Guides will show-up. It’s never not worked ;)

What happens if I can’t make a Gathering?

We understand that finding a free hour a week when you’re a Dad is difficult; if life gets in the way and you can’t make a gathering, we simple ask that you send an email or text letting us know. After each Gathering the content shared will be made available to everyone.

Can I invite a friend to participate?

Yes, we encourage you to extend the invitation to other’s you know that maybe interested in participating.

What format will be used during the gatherings?

A typical 60 minute Gathering, will include one third Wisdom Sharing and two thirds participant sharing, a few prompts will be offered to start the sharing.

Are there any guiding principles that I should know about?

We will be using a poem from Hafiz titled ‘Dropping Keys’ to guide each Gathering.
Our hope is that you will have a few keys to pickup each time we meet. :)

A few words of encouragement from a recent Dad who participated:
”If i could say something to the new Dad's entering the program it would be to not overthink each part of the process and focus on your initial thoughts and look at where you can apply the traits you learn about to yourself and those around you to hopefully better understand why something's are the way they are. By understanding the deeper working's of yourself you can then work forward to improve and adjust yourself to be more the person you picture yourself as. This doesn't mean everyone needs to make adjustments to themselves but if improvement or change is something you desire this is great way to start down the path.” — Daniel

Our experiences to date show us the offering is attractive to a wide range of Men:

New Dads, Dads with older children, Newly married Dads, Divorced Dads, Second Marriage Dads, Uncles with no children, Granddads and Dads who have lost a child.  A potential new area to explore is young men not in a relationship (18-30) who want to explore the archetypes deeper and begin to learn about being a Father one day.
